- Ah, I've been inactive lately too. xD I'm just lazy these days.
College is something! It's like a repeat of my high school all over again. I guess that's why they put "a college based high school" in their description. Bleh.
Astronomy! Yea! *high five* I love my class and I love how much I pay attention more to this class than the others. I already procrastinated but it was for a class I didn't really like. LOL. BUT I do my work on time for Astronomy. Dedication!
- I totally agree. Whenever I see this on a site, it drives me crazy. As do many other things that have to do with affiliates. Such as leaving a message on their tagboard that says something along the lines of "Hey affie! just droping by!!" I prefer to be called by my name, not "affie". It's not even a word. Ugh.
- HOLY COW! The new layout looks AMAZING! I've missed so much while I've been gone! I'm working on new updates soon! :)!!! Your new additions are fantastic!
I also feel the same way, I feel that affiliating is about befriending websites that are similar to your own and becoming good friends with the owners, I don't care about hits or anything as long as people find my resources useful, I'm happy :)
- So, you're right. And I don't even understand the point of getting clicks and hits and so on. I think the only reason to link to anotherone's side is if you like the side.
Btw I stumbled across yours and I really like it!
- I totally agree - as long as the website has quality designs and a nice webmistress/webmaster, hits shouldn't matter. That kind of requirement would especially make it difficult for newer websites of amazing quality to promote their site! I just see affiliates as friends on the web who have amazing sites that inspire me. =)
- You're pretty right, where we look for a compatibility and likeliness in the affiliates we choose.
Anyway, that's pretty ridiculous to demand that much traffic. You know what gets the most traffic? Those search sites like Google and Yahoo... better being affiliates with them if you want hits. (sarcasm) LOL.
I've experienced something like that before. I was once an affiliate with a site. The webmaster was a great person to chat to and discuss things, but once traffic for her kicked up, she wanted to remove me because my site had little hits at the time. I remember feeling so offended. :|
- I think that affiliation means different things to different people. For some, it's as you've described; for others, it's a strictly business relationship designed to get both sites more hits. I tend toward affiliating with the sites that I really like, regardless of hits or anything else, but ultimately it's a webmaster's own choice. I will say, though, that I think those who demand 100+ uniques/day or whatever are missing out on a lot of potentially wonderful affiliates.
- HEy Mikell, awesome domain =) Love all your designs and work may I add. I totally agree with you on this topic, I saw that too and got ticked off. I just find whomever is requiring too much from affiliates are really full of themselves, I wouldn't wanna affiliate with them in the first place, so I guess it's kinda of a warning hehe. speak to you soon.
